Did you lose anything at AnimeIowa 2007? Do you know anyone who did? If so, please review our UPDATED AnimeIowa 2007 Lost & found Inventory. There are a LOT of pretty nice items that we'd like to return to their owners! But hurry! All items must be claimed BEFORE AnimeIowa 2008.

AnimeIowa has 1700 people pre-registered! Even though pre-registration is closed, there are still registrations available at the door.

Registration Desk Hours
Friday: 9:00 am to midnight
Saturday: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Sunday: 10:00 am to 7:00 pm

Friday and Saturday, after the reg desk(s) close, the pre-reg badges will be taken up to the Bridge and attendees can pick them up there.

Video Programming still accepting Dojo Panels
With the convention approaching, the staff of AI Video Programming is still looking for cheerful and dedicated panelists to run panels in the Anime Dojo; we still have plenty of timeslots available. If you would like to apply to run a dojo panel, you can fill out the form HERE or send an AnimeIowa forum personal message to Lucky.

Every year at AnimeIowa we get a number of cameras, cell phones, and electronic devices turned in to our lost & found. We want to return them to you. Given the pile of stuff we get every year, you should be prepared for the moment when you discover that you've lost your shiny thing. Make it easy for your shiny thing to come back to you. For tips on how to do this please visit our forum.

AnimeIowa is pleased to announce that we will once again be holding a Blood Drive on Friday afternoon! You do NOT have to be registered to participate and no pre-signup is required. You must be 17 years of age and in good health to donate. Please see this forum thread for details.

Anime Iowa 2008's Pre-registration is now closed. We have not reached the registration cap and there are still many registrations available at the door.

Volunteer Meeting Canceled
Due to flooding the volunteer meeting has been canceled. We would love to have you as a volunteer at the convention, so if your interested and would like some more info, please email volunteers@animeiowa.com.
Flooding will not stop AnimeIowa so don't forget to register! The convention will go on as scheduled, as the hotel has not been significantly damaged.

Our hearts go out to all of you who have been affected by the flood. We would like to let you know that the hotel contacts have informed us that Marriot is currently functioning normally, and it will remain so unless ordered by the city. 2008 So you want to be a volunteer meeting!
It's time for our annual 'So you want to be a volunteer' meeting! For those who are interested in helping out at the convention this year, we will be at the Coralville Marriott Hotel and Convention Center on June 21st at 4pm. We don't know the room in advance, but the hotel will have notifications up on the ever helpful LCD screen as you enter the lobby. We'll try to get a recognizable staff member down in the lobby to help guide you. You can find directions to the hotel on their web page here.

Just like last year, we're going to need lots of help. Badging and coat check as always, I know Consuite, Cosplay, and even the Volunteers department is looking for an extra hand. We're also looking for people to help Setup and especially Tear-Down too. AnimeIowa can't happen without volunteers, and this is a great way to earn the thanks of our attendees. The guests always appreciate it as well.

So come along and see what it's all about. Chat with all the different departments and see where you can lend a hand. Help AI become the best it can be!

Paypal Registration Confirmations
If you registered and paid via Paypal, you will not receive a registration separate confirmation other than your Paypal receipt. If you have the Paypal receipt, you're registered. If you didn't get a notice from Paypal, then you should contact registration@animeiowa.com.

Iron Editor Contest
The AMV staff have created a new and challenging contest for skilled AMV editors. A handful of preselected contestants will be asked to create an AMV in a fixed amount of time. These will then be judged and the winning AMV will be announced at the AMV contest award show. [Rules] [Entry Form]

The AnimeIowa Forums are currently off-line as we prepare for the grand opening of the NEW AnimeIowa Forums! The re-launch on Japan's White Day (Friday March 14, 2008)is rapidly approaching, and the Forum Team is hard at work making final preparations to launch the NEW AnimeIowa Forums.

When all upgrades and confirmations have been completed, we'll officially open the New Forums! With any luck this will happen early in the day. However, if problems are found, we will delay opening until those problems can be corrected. We want your initial experiences on the New AnimeIowa Forums to be positive, and ensure that your post continuity and profiles are preserved.

During the first few weeks that the New Forums are open, we encourage you to explore your enhanced profile options, more configurable user preferences, and the additional features of the New AnimeIowa Forums. Please let us know if you spot anything quirky or if you have difficulties. The Forum Team is committed to resolving those issues as quickly as possible, so that we can all relax and enjoy our new Forum environment!

It's hard to believe, but the AnimeIowa Forums have been on line for FIVE years now! Shocked? Yep! But we wouldn't still be here without all the great support that we've received from our "Boardies" and staff members. So as our way of saying thanks, we'd like to follow up this Valentine's Day announcement and present you with a special White Day gift on March 14, 2008. Would you like to join the AnimeIowa staff? Here's your chance to be one of the people behind all the fun! We've got lots of ideas cooking for 2008, you can come add your own spice and help make the convention happen!

AnimeIowa 2007 is over, and we thank all of our attendees, volunteers, and staff members for a successful convention. It was our biggest year ever, with our attendance jumping from 1806 in the year 2006 to about 2300 crazed anime fans for this year's convention. But just because the convention is over doesn't mean it's forgotten! Please join us on the AnimeIowa Forums! We've posted our AnimeIowa 2007 Lost and Found list, and we're already busy sharing photos, memories, and plans for next year. And speaking of next year, we hope you'll all join us for AnimeIowa 2008! We'll be returning to the fantastic Coralville Marriott Hotel & Conference Center on August 15th-17th. Thanks again, we hope you'll join us for AnimeIowa 2008, and don't forget to stop in and say hello at the AnimeIowa Forums. We're there all year round!
