Submit a Panel
Thank you for volunteering to host a panel at AnimeIowa! Before you submit your panel, please read the following:
- Make sure to fill out the form completely. This will make sure that the most accurate information is available to help schedule your panel and to make sure the description you want gets in the program book.
- As you fill out the form, be mindful of when you personally will arrive and leave the hotel. Please do not volunteer for a time when you will not be able to be present at your panel. We will do our best to schedule you in optimal times, but this sometimes can be difficult.
- If you need materials, try to tell us everything you need in the form. This drastically increases our ability to get you everything you need. Make doubly sure to let us know if you need any sort of technical setup (sound, video projectors, and the like) so we can get you in the right room.
- AnimeIowa is a family friendly convention. That means that while we do have some late night panels that push the envelope, and welcome 18+ panels at our convention, if you plan to do a risqué panel such as that, YOU must provide your own personnel to card STATE ISSUED ID’s at the door, and submit a fairly detailed outline to the programming department before your panel gets the ok. If you don’t do this, we will not schedule you.
- You will not get your hotel room, your registration, your group’s registration, or your group’s hotel rooms, food or anything else on the AnimeIowa dime. You will not get anything for doing a panel, other than an hour of volunteer time and the satisfaction of talking about something you like with a bunch of people that like the same thing. Oh, and you get to sit on a stage!
- Any Tech needs should be cleared through programming before the convention. We do not have any spare computers, obscure adapters or tech staffers to come down and work your panel on a moment’s notice. Please tell us when you submit your panel, or your interest in a panel if you need tech support of any sort, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
- All panels are 60 minutes long, with a 30 minute break between panel times. If you go over by a few minutes, or stick around to talk after your panel, that is acceptable. You should make every attempt, however, to end on time. If you feel that you might come under time, you might want to either broaden your panel topic, or recruit a friend or acquaintance to help out.
That's it! Click here to submit your panel!
